Anyone try one of those otoscopes / wax removers...

That send a video to your smartphone? I have lots of earwax, and the wax drops do not work well for me.

1. I

put peroxide in a q tip, insert slowly, gently into the canal just let it sit there for a few minutes. The peroxide bubbles the wax to almost liquid, then use the other side of tip to pick up what might be left over. Been doing this for at least 20 years no problems.

2. I thought the otoscope was just for looking inside the ear

I know I get build up, have had it removed at the doctors office a couple times. None of the over the counter things seem to work. Mine gets compressed in there and hard to get out. One thing I tried which seemed to help a little was using a water pik with warm water. I donít think a doctor would approve of that but you can dial down the pressure.

4. Amazon has different types.

Some are just a camera. Others has wax removal tools built in.

6. I went to my doctor since I was sure I had an ear infection. I was experinecing some hearing

loss in my right ear and after using ear drops experienced a lot of pain. Turns out that the ear
drops were causing the pain and the doctor did a full wax-clearing on both my ears.

Turns out that my using q-tips to clean out my ears only packed the wax in more firmly and I left the session of inserting some special soap then flushing with water much wetter but with my hearing fully restored and all the wax removed.

The doctor showed me how to use some tissue twisted into a point to dry/clean out my ears after I shower and now I let hot water run on each of my ears then dry them using the doctors method when I'm done. I work as much of the tissue paper as I can into each ear then twist it around. I get rid of a lot of wax that way and don't have to depend on any OTC methods.
