(35,176 posts)I did not know about sarge43 until now. I read and posted. What a sad shame. Life is never easy.
I also did not know there was a drinking thread! I am tired of drinking alone....lol.

(29,173 posts)Go ahead and have a drinking thread- lift one for Jim. I'm already half way in the bag. Damned if I'll spend the night staring at the ceiling and crying. I'm saving the crying for his service at the NH Veteran's Cemetery, you know taps and all.

Thank you, everyone

(9,379 posts)My Uncle, a retired Lt Col is there. A Viet Nam vet, was born and raised in Lowell MA and after his time active and in the Guard, he returned to Billerica and worked at the Lahey Clinic. He retired to Bow Lake and spent his last 20 very happy in NH. He was a great guy, so your Jim will be in good company. I am so sorry for your loss.

(29,173 posts)It's a beautiful place -- peaceful. It comforts me that he'll rest with his brothers and sisters.
Plan to be parked myself.
Hand salute for your uncle.
