but I love this new band and proceeds go to help black lives organizations.
Human - Days of Rage
On the inspiration behind the track and its accompanying music video, vocalist and guitarist John Farran states:
Its a protest song, a fuckin metal one. Its about how the Palestinian and the Black American struggle although different, arent isolated. The oppressors not only use the same tactics, the same tear gas, and the same bullets, they also fund each other.
As a Palestinian growing up in the United States, I cant unsee the parallels. The song is a call for unification. We can only overcome it by realizing our intersections, and this goes for all oppressed people throughout the globe. We arent distant strangers, and our enemy is the same. Power to the people.

(33,643 posts)Definitely not my preferred vocal style though I must say.
Throw some Ronnie James, Bruce, Rob, Klaus, or James over that music and I might like it.

(12,132 posts)then it wouldn't be death metal. (or punk inspired death metal with other stuff thrown in as these kids seem to be)
Even this isn't quite as growly as I usually associate with death metal but still - it's hard and fast and I like it.
*actually, I've been over James for awhile but I still love their first 3 records.

(33,643 posts)I can hang with DM music in small doses, but the vocals get on my nerves.
About the hardest I rock in my old age is Opeth and Trivium, I'll be honest.

(12,132 posts)CC has a new album coming out soon. "Violence Unimagined" - the teaser on youtube is pretty good but I won't link it here. nsfw.
I took my granddaughter and her boyfriend to see Slayer 2 years ago and Iron Maiden a year and a half ago and we had plans to see Judas Priest last year until covid. They are coming in September though so I'm hoping she still wants to go. Unfortunately I don't like one single other band on the bill so it might be a rare arrive late and just see the headliner thing for me. Won't be the same without both Tipton and Downing but it's been a long time since I last saw them so I can accept the new guys I reckon lol.

(33,643 posts)The others ... now you're talking!
I saw Maiden on Piece of Mind tour, and JP on Defenders of the Faith. Never seen Slayer, but I do like 'em. Or, I did when I was young lol.
Yeah, no KK or Glenn ... that's rough. I could deal with losing one of the two, but without EITHER? It def. wouldn't be the same. But Rob is main part of the show, so it'd still be cool. If the price was right
