They also don't have access to commercial yeast and use natural sources instead which takes considerably longer.

The recipe they give is almost the exact one I used as a kid, except I had to use baker's yeast as that's what we had. I put everything in a gallon jug with a balloon on top and put it up in the attic of our barn on a hot day. It tasted like complete shit but it got the job done.

3. My dear niece began brewing her own beer a while back. She gave me a six pack at Christmas.

She was really eager for me to taste it and let her know what I thought.

It was a chore, but I sipped most of the bottle down.

It was when I got about three quarters through the bottle that I got a mouthful of sludge.

There was a layer of dark color sediment at the bottom of the bottle that was not obvious until I got near the end.

I threw up all over her kitchen.
