I went on a bit of a creative sewing binge, today. I figure I've got at least another 10 months, or longer, of mask wearing and after I get my 2nd jab (and waiting the appropriate amount of time for the antibodies to take hold) I want to get out and about a little more. A year of almost complete self-isolation is really taking a toll, not to mention the anxiety of constantly worrying if I washed my hands BEFORE I itched my nose, after getting back from a quick trip to pick up necessities. And, being a very tactile individual, the lack of human contact is just feeding my anxiety.
I'm especially proud of the 'bandana' fabric masks because I made an effort to make sure the patterns on each side were symmetrical. And they are both reversible - blue patterned on one side and white on the other. Well, all of the masks are reversible, just not as creatively two sided.
Side note: I've discovered that the pleated masks fit FAR snugger than any of the other styles. And they are designed to accommodate a filter.
I made some for St. Patrick's Day, but I'm having trouble getting motivated to get back into it to finish up the ones for Easter.
I've been making mine using the type of pattern you show that's not pleated, but I started cutting them out just a little longer and find that they stay where they're supposed to be a little better. I got elastics with the little buttons on them already, so they can be adjusted for a better fit by the wearer.

(28 posts)Those are very nice looking masks! I especially like the navy blue pleated one and the artsy, dotted one on top.
I just ordered more masks from a couple different etsy sellers, in a few different styles. One fit should be similar to your pleated, and they will all come with filters so I'm excited. It'll be awhile before it's my turn to get my vaccine, and shots or not, I plan to wear masks for quite some time, also.
