So I bought a tube of this and started using it on my old teeth twice day. After two weeks, I gave up and went back to white toothpaste. Why?
It's a MESS! I hadn't realized how much toothpaste gets spattered in your sink when you brush your teeth. With the charcoal toothpaste you have to clean the sink after each brushing. I used bathroom wipes (our plumber friend said NOT to flush them) and threw them away.
Now I just use hydrogen peroxide from the drugstore. It's cheap and it gets rid of big stains, but not so much on general whiteness.
YMMV. Mine didn't.

I dilute regular 'whitening' mouthwash with hydrogen peroxide to get the benefit of both.

(8,868 posts)It's their 365 brand, spearmint toothpaste with hemp seed oil. It has fluoride, but there are non-fluoride options. The tube says it's cavity fighting and whitening.
I haven't noticed any whitening, but I drink a lot of tea so it's hopeless in my case. I like the texture of it.

(68,203 posts)I also have those clear jackets to wear over my teeth with whitener (from the dentist). That's a mess too and you have to leave them on for over an hour. But I had the jackets made from the dentist and it was a lot of money. I start to drool way before the hour is up.

(4,692 posts)I had to go out in the back yard to brush. Giving the bathroom a power wash every day, is not my cup of tea. One of my sons was visiting and, had a good laugh at me, when I came back in, after I dashed past him and out the door with my tooth brush and tooth paste in my hand. What is that stuff?
Yes, hydrogen peroxide works like a charm.

(68,203 posts)I use them on the tile floor when my husband's "aim" isn't good. He's too handicapped to get down and clean the tile. So I go in and do it. They're also good cleaning out the sink. But despite what the label says, the so called "flushable" wipes aren't, or rather, shouldn't, according to our plumber friend. It's hard to argue with an expert.

I prefer a more traditional peroxide-containing whitening toothpaste which I alternate with a stannous fluoride-containing (rather than sodium fluoride) remineralization toothpaste.

(11,237 posts)I get the store brand, which is a bit cheaper than the name brand. If I haven't used them in a while, I will use them two or three days in a row, and then once every coyple of days. I want my teeth white, but I don't want them to be a brilliant white. And I haven't used them at all lately because, I never going out without a mask on anyway, so why bother lol? I have a high school friend who likes to post selfies and her teeth are just ridiculously white and completely unnatural.

I won't give up my morning coffee or my non-alcohol Merlot. Right there I have two strikes against me, self inflicted.
