(21,146 posts)several years years ago. Had tabby markings and did not look Siamese except for the body length, but had the meow, intelligence, and creative mischief.

(22,119 posts)Plus extra toes. He was a very smart kitty. I believe he understood trigonometry - at least he appeared to be using the Pythagrian (sp) theory when stalking birds.
He also taught himself how to pee in the toilet.
My daughter could pick him up and drape him around her neck and he never ever tried to get away.
We have many funny stories about his hockey games on the kitchen floor

(21,146 posts)now that you mention it. His eyes were green, but had the Siamese tilt. We got him from the ASPCA shelter. Every time I reached into the cage of kittens, this little gray tabby crawled up my arm into the hood of my coat. So I told my husband that we had to take the one who chose us.
I had no first hand experience with Siamese and did not recognize any of his Siamese traits. A week after we got him, he was vomiting so we went to the vet's. (Discovered when we got home that he had eaten a quarter pound stick of butter that I had set out to soften.)
When the vet used a rectal thermometer, Alex (the cat), let out a howl that startled the vet who then examined Alex's length, height, head, eyes, etc. and said, "You guys are in for a treat. This little one is Siamese, at least half."
Alex had all the Siamese behavioral traits and the meow (which is what tipped off the vet). Followed us like a dog on an invisible leash. Learned things very quickly. Played mischievous tricks on us. Very well behaved basically, but LOVED pranking us.

We must leaven the despair and concern were accustomed to with humor - else we wont wholly survive. As long as we can still laugh, were good.

(22,837 posts)and have always been intrigued by them. Beautiful cats with those sapphire-blue eyes. Can be occasionally bratty and very possessive (also very affectionate). Cats. I love them all.
