notice it. I have a spare but I am just ready to cry because I'm so stupid. I'm actually due for my regular eye exam, though, and the eye place is not far from my house.
I feel really dumb right now...

(16,903 posts)most likely need new prescriptions etc. Not too keen on any eye exams during the pandemic.
I feel your pain, dont cry, be thankful for that spare.
Not to worry. You have a spare pair and were due for another exam anyway. Take the specs to your glasses fitting place and maybe they can fix them. If you are a regular customer, they do this for free.
Now me, I'm so absent minded about stuff like this that I have what I call "rules." The rules are that certain things can only go in pre-designated places. For example: upon coming into the house, keys go on a hook. Not in a jacket pocket. Not in a purse. The only place for keys is on the key hook.
When going into a store, keys go into the right hand pocket only.
Glasses: only go into a soft, fabric box on the dresser.
The TV remote cannot be carried out of the room of the TV to which it belongs. It must be put on a table next to the chair where TV is watched.
That sort of thing.
The beauty of this system is that when you want something, there is only one place to look.

(63,912 posts)I usually put mine on in the car so I have several there. But I've learned that the best place is my purse, which I never leave in the car. I also have one mask upstairs and one downstairs.

(16,616 posts)The exact same thing happened to me, only a day or so after I got new glasses. I brought them back to the optometrist assuming I'd have to get a replacement, and a gentleman took them into a back room and about five minutes later he emerged with my glasses completely back to normal. In my case, the metal was bent and they had some kind of machine that straightened everything back the way it was supposed to be.
I felt dumb too, but the guy said it happens all the time.

(6,794 posts)My eyeglasses go in a soft furry eyeglass holder. I have four. One on my nightstand, one on my desk, one in the bathroom, one on the coffee table in the TV room. Keys go in a certain place, my handbag always in the same place. Too many times I have gone on desperate searches for stuff. I simply trained myself to put stuff in the same place. I had no choice. I am too easily distracted and flustered.
