Painful, but magnificent. Brilliant acting from Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn (Best Supporting Actor Oscar). Long, long list of upper-crust types who helped with the original Van Gogh paintings in the movie; among them Mr. and Mrs. Edward G. Robinson (the actor had an impressive art collection).
