Gaaaadd.
I'd have fled too.

(26,255 posts)Although I wish them well with their foundation, I really do find them to be tiresome.
Besides, I'm watching 'Allen v. Farrow' on HBO.

(7,349 posts)The Brit drama with these two is tiresome and old. I do wish them well....
Ill be tuned in to Allen v. Farrow and then John Oliver.

Liz was a staunch, dedicated public servant, but one hellova horrifying mother. Too funny, though, how she clings to the throne, depriving Charles of his turn.

(46,771 posts)She was a not a naive kid, she knew what she was getting into.
A B-list actress who hit the big time with her marriage.
Vast wealth, power, fame, adoration.
And it was not enough for her.
There is no free lunch, she had to follow protocol and the rules of the institution.
She wouldn't do it. Instead she wanted more.
Yes I agree, Liz is a great public servant, but lacking in the mother department.
The kids have not done well. In terms of abdication, it is not going to happen, she is too much of a traditionalist.

Meghan Markle, Prince Harrys interview with Oprah Winfrey cost CBS at least $7M in licensing fees
The two-hour interview is scheduled for Sunday on CBS at 8 p.m. ET, after the networks popular news magazine 60 Minutes. Sunday is one of the biggest nights of television consumption.
As part of the agreement between CBS and Ms. Winfreys production company, Harpo Productions, the network also has rights to license the special in international markets. In the U.K., the interview will air Monday on ITV. CBS is a unit of ViacomCBS Inc.
A spokeswoman for the couple said they are not being compensated for the interview.
Grifters may grift, but facts are facts.
Yes, I'll be watching, and taping "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy" at 9:00 CNN.

(17,982 posts)After seeing excerpts this morning I am glad I did not watch it. Charles has been embarrassed once again by his own Son. Reminds me too much of the Wallis Simpson case. Meghan knew she was marrying into the Royal family

(16,348 posts)I'm recording it, so I may not watch it when it's on, but I'll watch.
From the responses to this OP, that may not be a popular choice, but I am interested, so I will watch.
I'll record it and probably just skim through it,

(15,325 posts)..a fishbowl as she did. Just to be with the man that chose to vow forever 'till death we do part'.
Wear this, not that. Stand like this, not that. Smile & wave like this, not that.
Protocol & all in a country, not your own, public & media eye on every word you say & you have no opinion beyond the Royal approval.
Fk that. Harry knew it too. He knew the Brit media would tear her up & a few Royals as well.
They're just as big a gossips as anyone else.
And honestly, it was Harry who stood by when he saw his wife treated the same as his mother when the Royal decision was made.
I'd lose my mind living in an environment as she had to.
The media never ever left her alone
I admire her composure cuz I'd have had to tell them all to gth as I headed out the door.
Harry appears to have made the right & only decision in his saying adios to the stuffed shirts, their watchdogs inside the Palace & the bitter British Press.
Oh ya, I recall when Archie was first born.
The trending question whispered in the UK was, " is he black?".
Yes that is the damned Truth. 🤬
I wish them peace & a long & happy healthy life with their beautiful children, their friends, their giving foundations, & their pets.
I will watch, not for the gossipy rumors she & Harry endured while holding their heads high in an environment where they were not welcome as a married couple, but because I think Markel is beautiful, smart, gracious & passionate about the causes she & Harry have entered into.
They are a most interesting power couple in their own right, & hopefully the Royal experience will be far in the past someday.
British Press can stew about it for years.
Harry & Meghan will be long gone from that boring reach.
Oprah's interview is set to record.

Seems simple. They treated her like st. Harry decided he wasnt going to take that and wasnt going to ask her to take it. So, they left.
They really hate to see a fearless independent Black woman stand up to them.
~ Go live your life freely, Harry & Meghan

(15,751 posts)Why watch rich people problems? The privileged elite have it so rough. Give me a break! Why not do a story on someone who is about to have their last meal using money found in couch cushions. It irks me they got 7 million for this interview!!!!! Ugh!

(10,952 posts)The big question for the media will be trying to figure out which member of the Royal family had the conversation with Harry about concern for hiw dark their child's skin would be.
When she was pregnant they were told that their child would get no title and no security. So royal family denies first mixed race baby title and security. Meghan only cared about the title if it would have protected her child.
Race is absolute factor in how she was treated.
She wanted inpatient treatment for mental health and they denied it. You can see why they walked away from the royal family.
