What a difference from a year ago just as we were entering lockdowns. Who could have imagined how different our lives would become? Masks. Fear of going to the grocery store. No more live events in shared spaces for concerts, plays, sports. No going out to eat dinner in a restaurant. No more travel.
Next Monday I get my second Moderna shot. The first appointment I'm going to make for two weeks after that is to have my teeth cleaned! Then I'm going to schedule an appointment at the hair salon for the first time since February 2020. And after that? A Mani pedi.
A year ago I never thought I'd be grateful to be going to the dentist.
What a year.

(31,386 posts)my age, the chance of getting Covid from an extended period in close proximity to another person wasn't worth it.

(28,789 posts)I am also looking forward to going to the dentist, but also a little scared. they're going to need a jackhammer to clean my teeth.
I may just keep on cutting my own hair, and don't miss the mani pedis as much as i thought i would.
beautiful sky.

(31,386 posts)The dentist had told me last February I really should come every 4 months...
barbtries
(28,789 posts)every 4 months the periodontist, and every 4 months my regular dentist. i have periodontal disease and had gone over 8 years without a visit to the dentist after my daughter died. Ironically enough, I worked for a dentist at the time of her death but never really returned to that job.

(14,559 posts)B-day. Got my first haircut since Feb '20 a week ago.
Same with teeth cleaning. Good news is that wearing a mask leads to using mouthwash multiple times a day so the cleaning was easy peasy. Silver linings are good but I wish the cloud wasn't so eff'in big . . .

It has been quite the year indeed. I'm thrilled to see even a few things turning towards normal, whatever it is.
Enjoy your day!

(31,386 posts)My garden will start being planted since I heard from the yard guy yesterday he could come today. And I might get over to my friend's house in Chapel Hill for a visit on her deck since we expect the temp to be in the low 70's today.
