I had just returned home from the most fortunately-timed vacation of my life. I called up my doctor's office and they told me that since I had a 4-hour layover at LAX on my way home from Maui that it would be prudent for me to quarantine for two weeks. Covid was exploding in Los Angeles County and I was nervous, hence the call to my doctor. Little did I realize how profoundly our lives would change after that day.
I feel so very fortunate to have gotten my first Pfizer vaccine and am looking forward to getting my second shot on March 16, the day I was supposed to go back to Maui for two weeks, sigh. I rolled over the condo reservation to 2022. I'm bummed about it but would be even sadder if I was exposed to Covid while traveling. My friend and I are hoping to go to Alaska in late July/early August. It's encouraging that Alaska just opened up vaccines for everyone over the age of 16. I hope they take advantage of it.
I'm grateful to be alive and healthy. I'm grateful that all of you are, too, and hope that all of you that haven't been vaccinated yet are able to be ASAP.
Here's to better times.
