Rib fractures are notorious for slow healing. Pain persist until 2 week mark then you will flying_wahini Mar 2021 #7
I bet his wife cringes every time he gets a call. Wouldn't want my husband to fall from that height. flying_wahini Mar 2021 #6

I also saw a video recently about a group of people, perhaps in Oregon or Washington state, who do cat tree rescues.

We have some local arborists in Portland that occasionally help out with cat rescues.

My doctor said that he recommends that people 50+ never even climb a ladder. And, that after age 60, a fall of 6' holds about a 50% likelihood of being fatal.

The other day, I caught my foot on something as I was rounding a corner into the hall. Because my center of gravity was greatly altered, the geometry (and physics too, I guess) caused me to go down like I'd been shot. Landed squarely on the R side of my ribcage and broke one.

My age (68) had little, if anything to do with falling, but it almost certainly did in the aftermath. I am hoping that age hasn't compromised my healing ability, which has been prodigious my whole life. And, this is only the third bone I've ever broken - nose once, and the radial head of L elbow being the others. 4th, if you count a chip fracture in my R foot.

If you have never broken a rib, I can't recommend it. Any bone, for that matter.
