One year ago today a dear friend lost her son to a heroin overdose

Our hearts are still broken. The wake was surreal. Pre-masks, just when everything was shutting down. I was scared to touch anyone but had to of course.
They are having a mass today but I just got out of Covid quarantine and have my first vaccine scheduled for this coming Thursday so I am laying low.
This past year has been a real gut punch.
I am just grateful that we have real leadership. Hopefully we can focus on mental health parity and the opioid crisis and prevent further tragedies.

Glad they're having a funeral Mass today. Will give his family some sense of closure.
