(25,839 posts)I actually did a quick check about what dog-walkers make, and they get $15-20 for a fifteen to twenty minute walk, and $30 for a thirty minute walk. That adds up.

(25,839 posts)Not as much one on one attention, I'll guess.
The thing about dogs is that they are VERY attuned to humans. Some years back I did volunteer work at a local animal shelter. I worked the reception desk on weekends, and the layout of the shelter was such that the dog walkers had to go by me t do the rounds of walking the dogs. It was quickly obvious that every single dog wanted to greet every single person they crossed paths with. It made me hugely appreciative of dogs and how they are connected to us.

All the dogs loved it. They had dog best friends and everything.

(28,812 posts)I guess it was. They got dropped off in a large area. About noon theyd be brought into the pens. They all had their own pen and bed if we wanted them. Theyd get a cookie and water and a nap. Then out in the yard til we picked them up. They had king of the mountain, a couple of baby pools in the summer. There was an indoor obstacle course. There were group lessons
for additional price. Overnights were $12.
Guess you dont realize what you have til its gone.
My dogs best friend was a cute little golden doodle named Sophie.
