Every time my husband sees the Liberty Mutual commercial he say out loud, "They're going to get sued for exploiting that bird."

I had a hunch that it was a CGI bird, and confirmed it with a search. Much in the way that Disney use to do it, they had live, wild birds as models, and then CGI'd the action.

I don't think I'll tell him.

1. On the subject of insurance commercials...

Why do insurance companies all resort to comedy of the most absurd type to sell their product - usually auto insurance? As far as I know, the only one that hasn't resorted to it is USAA, the one for those with a connection to the military.

4. Insurance isn't sexy.

It's a necessary evil.

There was a time when an insurance company, like the Travelers, was considered cadillac insurance. Which meant that rich people use to pay more for the insurance, because of the status.

2. I'm pretty tired of Limu.

The concept was sort of novel, but the novelty has worn off and now the commercials are just irritating. I was also pretty sure Limu was CGI, since emus "are quite sizable birds, fully capable of eviscerating even large animals with their big, three-toed, clawed feet. I think that one was most annoying.

It's depressing that they're obviously effective, can't go more than 10 minutes without seeing one on a news channel, they're even on the Food Channel, but not as often.

That “Don’t turn into your parents” stuff is bullshit. Those “parents” are age peers. I don’t know a soul who yells into cell phones in public, gives unwanted advice in the hardware store, has so many pillows no one can sit down, etc. Their idea of elders is of stupid, out of touch, obnoxious, sad people, and they can bite me.
