(25,908 posts)Please note that I never said they were *good* pets. Everyone I know who had a raccoon in the house has been bitten (including myself, as an innocent bystander). One family had their house ruined when they left the raccoon home alone. As punishment for leaving him alone and bored, the raccoon positioned the kitchen faucet above the divider between sinks and turned on the hot & cold water, which splashed onto the linoleum and eventually saturated the sub-floor.

(115,610 posts)He was able to open the refrigerator, and would help himself, which involved throwing everything else on the floor. They are too clever to be house pets.

(34,341 posts)I've seen several videos of him. I'm not condoning keeping wild animals as pets, but this guy is so chill and seems happy.
