I was so excited to see that I had slept in until 5 this morning! The first glimmer of daylight usually wakes me up, and it already seemed to be pretty light. I think I went to sleep around 9 last night, so that's 8 HOURS!!!!! I hardly EVER get 8 hours of sleep! I think it's been about two years since that happened!
Then I remembered that DST started. I looked out the window and realized that it wasn't daylight at all. It was the moon reflecting off of the snow we got during the night.
I guess 7 hours of sleep isn't all that bad.

(1,576 posts)Our moon is currently 1 day past new phase and moon rise is approximately 8:30-ish.
Beware our aliens overlords.
Now I won't be able to sleep tonight because I'll be wondering if a UFO is going to be hovering in my yard again. Thanks for that.

(8,445 posts)I do love early mornings, but sometimes there's just way too much night left when my silly mind decides it's time to get up and start my day.

(8,445 posts)I'm always thrilled when I can get 7 hours of sleep. I'm not pleased when I wake up before 4.
I'm going to get some heavier window coverings for my bedroom before summer. I'm hoping it'll help.

(8,445 posts)Most nights I don't get up more than once, and many not at all. I'm thankful for that.
I'm more often awakened by crazy dreams.

It's amazing that I lived.

(153,138 posts)I routinely work 12 hour nights on 3 or 4 hour sleep
so it drives me NUTS every year when I read people whining they "lost" one hour of sleep and how it HARD it is

(8,445 posts)I've never been a big sleeper, and I get up super early. My neighbor does not. I know there are times she sleeps until late morning. I'd love to be able to get my lawn mowed in the early morning before it gets hot in the summers, but I figure it won't kill me to leave it until the evening, so that's what I do.
And yeah, nobody "loses" that hour of sleep. There are still 24 hours in a day.

But, yes, I'm at a higher elevation. 4690 feet.
