My older dog stays on ‘his’ couch 23 hrs a day. At 13yo, he’s earned that choice. Younger dog is a whirlwind always ready to head out the door.

7. Years ago I heard scratching and opened the front door.

A little Dachshund was there. She was wearing a collar but not tags. I let her in, she played with my pug and cat, had a snack and then scratched on the front door. When I let her out she took off. When this happened a couple of times I followed her. She lived 3 doors down. It turns out she was an escape artist and we weren't the only people she liked to visit. She came by once a week or so for the 2 years we lived there.
Dogs are such wonderful creatures, I can't imagine life without them.

They are poorly behaved. One of them does it and the other has to follow the alpha.

This dog probably detected her illness, and decided she was needed. What a sweetheart!

She loved riding in the car so much that even the sound of keys jingling caused her to jump up off all fours over and over. Wish we'd videotaped it. Such a fun memory.
