getting jabbed in the morning.
supplies obviously increasing. been trying for a week to get something scheduled - county on line, local grocery pharmacy (and not so local for that matter), and lower tech waiting list at the nearest hospital.
this morning finally got on for something through the county site for the 22nd an hour or so away. then just a minute ago the hospital called and got us in tomorrow morning. Moderna. I know the husband will be relieved. I figured this would happen soon so I just haven't been that stressed about it.

(8,514 posts)I got my second shot this morning at our drive-through clinic. This afternoon I got an automated call telling me that if I hadn't gotten it I should get my butt over there. At 2:30 there were 200 people who hadn't checked in yet.
I sure hope those shots aren't wasted!
(To clarify: I meant that I hope the shots meant for those 200 people aren't wasted.)
seems like they are getting pretty good at handling that with waiting lists and such

(72,300 posts)I had the first shot 10 days ago.
No bad reaction. Sleeping more than usual.

(56,829 posts)looks like the second of that is most likely for a bit of reaction.

(11,836 posts)Sore arm, slept the afternoon away and then had the runs.
Next day was fine so even the first shot can mess with you a little
Good luck 🍀

(56,829 posts)there is a lot of variation in people's reactions. I am usually smack in the center of AVERAGE when it comes to medical stats.

(33,345 posts)I spent the afternoon either sleeping or sitting on the couch, wrapped in layers with a blanket over my legs, watching shows I had recorded. Just finished Stanley Tucci's last episode in Tuscany. OMG. I've been invited to a 70th birthday party dinner by high school friends to be held in Lucca, Italy in early September--IF--international travel is possible. This b'day party was cooked up at our 50th high school reunion two years ago (Class of '69) when several people discovered they had been to Lucca and loved it.
Now with the newest lockdown in Italy and EU countries, I'm doubtful the event will happen, or if it does, whether I'll go. Just too much unknown on how long these vax will provide immunity or whether they'll be effective against new variants.
Good luck with your second shot. I definitely have more body aches than I had with the first one and some minimal chills.

(47,423 posts)My side effect was a slightly sore arm.
I didn't have to take any pain meds for it, and it went away already.

(255,525 posts)It was such a relief and all went smoothly. There was only one woman ahead of me and there were two nurses administering the shots. I wore short sleeves as advised, it only took a minute and then I had to wait for 15 minutes, also as advised, and that was it. I got the Moderna as well, at CVS. My arm was a little sore for the next day or so, but that was it. I go back for shot #2 at the end of the month. I was also kinda tickled to learn that I got the same vaccine as Dr. Fauci. Hope that yours is quick and stress free as well!
