Second thread I have seen on censorship issues about mundane things.

(115,661 posts)as well as the Pets forum. People get snarky if you post about pets in GD, but not the Lounge.

UTUSN
(70,674 posts)it was reopened. I'll just say that it completely blindsided me, and, not being dramatic, was hurtful. And, yes, "hurtful' in Lounge seems dramatic, but with everything we've gone through, most any little thing sets off a paranoic reaction, like some kind of incomprehensible singling-out.

(17,203 posts)if we can't talk about animals etc in THE LOUNGE, I won't ever post or read that forum AGAIN. Very censorish action on the part of that "host" in my opinion.

Tikki..who has a cutie dog named Tracy.
That's nuts.
I have to click on a million things every single day at work. I'd really prefer to get pics and cute stories of Lounger Pets in the freaking Lounge so I don't have to remember to click more stuff.
I always figured "Pets" was more about info about pets.
Hell, a large number of Loungers could be classified as pets.

done!
also there are only 5 hosts and 25 open spots, I suppose we could storm the host forum and overturn the election!
How I miss the days of Lounge Rebellion!!!
Leave it to you, Kali, to pop in just in time to start a DU insurrection.
make Lounge obnoxious again!

(Sidenote...predictive text wanted me to bring the pigeons...wtf? Who let pigeons in the Lounge, again?)
(Sidenote 2...should we all hop on Twitter and harass Skinner with #cornflakechicken? AHAHAHA)

(55,007 posts)I finally made an account there to comment on some local law enforcement issue last year, but I don't really know how it works. FB was sucking too much time so I haven't been on there much at all the past year. (DU is bad enough! )

(8,201 posts)I never go into the Pets forum even though I do enjoy pet-related posts. I read them when I see them in the Lounge but I never think, "I should click on the Pets forum in case there are interesting posts there."
I see the Lounge as almost anything that is light, entertaining, community-oriented, personal, or not political/not looking for expert, specialized advice.

(861 posts)It's the time of year they're more active, and dogs can hear so much better than people.

(16,616 posts)a dog and living in coyote country.
1. Watching the videos gave him the idea that it's okay to express himself that way.
2. He is hearing distant coyotes that are difficult for humans to pick up. Once a pack of coyotes gets going (usually after a kill, unfortunately) it is a sound to behold.
That is the #1 reason my dog howls or barks between sunset and sunrise.
#2 is nocturnal visitors in the yard, specifically our friendly neighborhood pack of javelinas.
Maybe distant sirens? Humans usually pick them up, but it's possible they could remain on the outskirts of audibility, far enough away that they are difficult to hear. The fact that it is happening at night makes me suspect, like you, that it's animal activity.

Ask EarlG if there's a glitch again.
Or maybe there's a hacker loose in The Lounge.
This ain't right..something's wrong here.
What's a lounge for if you can't pass around pics of your pets?
Sorry! Adorable pup anyway!
