(90,764 posts)All rescues except for the first dachshund. He was a present from my husband. Picked him up at the Germany/Czech Republic border. In the snow.

(83,751 posts)Growing up in the country all our cats and dogs were strays except for the boxer that came with my dad when he married mom.
Cool photos, Solly.

(10,870 posts)She is a great companion, though not a perfect GSD. My current favorite meathead. Fourth in a line of great companions. Others before her have been great as companions for our young kids, Greta has been great at being the one they needed when they reached their teen years and beyond. I hope she lives much longer, though experience tells me otherwise.

(8,201 posts)Phoebe was a very shy feral kitten and Mico was probably a pet who hadn't been neutered and got lost. I tried to find his owner but was secretly delighted when no one knew him or claimed him.
And Victor (another stray) and Cleo. Cleo was molting at the time.

(2,769 posts)Yes, we are dorky enough to have had a professional photographer take this pic.
That's Bunkie on the left and Rudy on the right.
Sadly, we lost Bunkie 3 years ago to that evil [link:|cancer. She was only 6 years old.
Rudy is getting to be an old man now and has Cushing's disease, but is doing OK on meds.
