(40,285 posts)Had wall to wall carpeting in their bathroom. Ugh. Supposedly because linoleum was too cold to walk on.
Ive also known people who had wall to wall carpeting in their kitchen. Another ugh.

(24,975 posts)I didn't tell her what it was. She said, "Yeah, it's a toilet paper holder. We had a couple in our house growing up. I must be old 'cause I haven't seen one in years."

(130,099 posts)with something fuzzy. I don't think we ever had a TP roll cover like that, though I remember seeing them in other people's bathrooms; but we did have a toilet lid cover and a rug shaped to fit around the base of the toilet. All of these things were unsanitary, but no well-appointed '60s-'70s bathroom could be without them.

(1,652 posts)I don't remember those (were those something usually sold, or handmade?) but I remember those plastic elves in felt clothes that were kind of similar. Their arms were a loop and they came with laundry detergent IIRC, their arms wrapped around the bottles. Their labels said "filled with excelsior."
