The DU Lounge

Recently, I've noticed that a number of frequent posters on DU have changed their screen names.
Does anyone have any idea why they've done this?
Thanks, in advance.

I wish they would not do so, but... Many of the names are going from a simple easy-to-remember and unique screen name to something that has no context. I'll never remember them, but...

Thanks for the insight, hithe2b.

(23,666 posts)I understand some names were selected when a person joined DU to reflect the current political period, or some other reason that may now seem out of date. But that's what their DU associates know them by. If it's only been a couple of years that's one thing, but longer term members.....who are they now?
