A trained surgeon who removed his own tonsils, Duntley worked as an eye surgeon in poor rural areas and was often paid in chickens.

that drew people in because they were so bad they had to be seen to be believed.

3. My Great-Grandfather

Hey, that's my Great-Grandfather. His son Seibert Quimby Duntley went on to be a renowned optical physicist, known for bringing the MIT Visibility Laboratory to the Scripps Institute of Oceanography in San Diego and several impactful visibility breakthroughs in the oceans, and in space. Brilliant; Like father like son.
