...and the black character, initially, opting to let the title rest with its white originator.

Then the title is given to another white man assuming the role.

Falcon's character will define his own role, either accepting of the new Capt. as an ally, or challenged to rival him in some way.

The 'issue' of race in this is purely in the casting. The rest is pure fiction, and not some harbinger or guide.

Sam and Sarah’s experience at the bank, the race profiling with Sam and Bucky, the encounter with Isaiah; these are all topical and deliberate. I’m enjoying the show so far.

Namely, how does a planet/human civilization handle the immediate influx of roughly 3.5 billion people after spending a few short years reducing everything and coping with the loss of half the world's population? How do you feed these newly returned 3-4 billion people after downsizing global food production due to the lack of a need to produce as much as before the Blip? How do you reintegrate them into jobs where they have been replaced or had their positions eliminated due to technology or lack of demand? Survival and economic infrastructures are not going to magically reappear due to the Blip.

For example, an issue of Spiderman lost its Comic Codes Authority seal when the story was about a Viet Nam vet coming home with a drug addiction.
