(113,299 posts)Three of my favourite bookstores were owned by cats, as well as an antique shop and a gift shop. My favourite holiday shop has one of those basket cats that purrs and appears to breathe. One could not possibly have a live kit in that one!

(36,053 posts)I love cats but am allergic. I did have one once, though, and somehow overcame my allergy. Buster makes me want to give a cat a try someday.

(111,255 posts)I knew a lot of them in Boston, where the health inspectors would look the other way because they were better than having the place overrun with rodents.
Even if they weren't great mousers, they discouraged them from taking up residence.
I haven't seen a single store cat here in NM. I miss them.

shenanigans always give me a laugh.

(53,410 posts)I was greeted by an older cat and was delighted. He was on top of some cages and he gave me head bits and rubs the whole time I was there. It was delightful. What a welcoming committee!

And he is great with our 1 year old granddaughter.

(10,871 posts)The kitten stayed with us for almost 20 years, the girlfriend became my wife. That cat moved more times in our first few years... Best cat ever.
