(4,999 posts)I am not a huge art fan, but can find it entertaining. I had seen many Van Gogh's as color plates in articles or books growing up and found them interesting.
We managed to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Paris/Spain a few years ago, and i saw many Van Gogh's in person.
They absolutely BLEW MY MIND how stunning they are. No photograph can reproduce the thick brushstrokes or the iridescent nature of some of the colors.
Seeing "Starry Starry Night" is now one of our goals, if we can work it in with other travel.
BTW I really enjoyed the other impressionist artists paintings in person too.
