The emotional breakdown and inability to talk at around 1:20 of that video is pretty much exactly how I behaved when I realized my marriage and my graduate school goals were over.
So the acting in that scene struck me as very accurate!
My experience was obviously nothing compared to the previous trauma of Walken's character in that movie, but my wife had secretly put me in deep debt and my full academic scholarship would soon be unused so I could earn more money to deal with that new problem.
It's not like I had a wealthy family to bail me out of such jams, so my goal of being a math professor pretty much died and that's how I reacted to questions from my grad school advisor about me not attending my classes lately.
