"Sir, we are not criminals ... " Me: you sure the heck are, you are calling people who are long on the do not call list. "Sir, we are not trying to sell you anything, we are offering a free roof inspection as a service" Me: there are provisions in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act that also forbid calling to make free offers whose purpose is to make a future sale, and so (and me getting louder and adding profanity and hanging up).

(21,446 posts)but they do happen here. When we get them, it's usually from a storm system moving up from eastern Ohio in a northeasterly direction. Or sometimes from a storm system that starts in Michigan and moves across the Great Lakes. They range from small ones that destroy barns or cut paths through woods and camping areas to stronger ones that leave behind fatalities.
It was when I lived in Ohio for 5 years that I learned the warning signs and what to watch for after a couple close calls.
But, as you said, even without a tornado, hail can do a lot of damage.
