These songs, although all from different times and movements, seem to feel like a genre or a type of darker tone. How would you describe this?

(6,355 posts)Remembered an interview with Jimmy Iovine where he, as I recall, said Because The Night was originally intended for Born To Run but after a lot of conversations with Bruce, they decided it wasn't right. Iovine said he suggested releasing it to Patti Smith and Bruce was all for it.
Don't remember the part about Patti Smith having been a co-writer but she's clear got writing credit on it.

(54,003 posts)... actual emo music ruined the word Goth for the rest of us. This is a hard acoustic sound, not electronic or synthetic at all.
I'm using noire as a placeholder till I hear better.

(1,786 posts)is 62 and looks better than most 20 year old ladies. And she has a bunch of talent.
And that Shocking Blue song seems to end up in my brain on many days.
Two great and talented women and one talented man. I like all three of these songs.

(54,003 posts)I think this is supposed to sound dark too, tho it may so only do so inadvertently. Or it's intentionally inadvertent.
Like they're so misunderstood, understand?
