I am trying a new chicken (skin and bone) recipe. It calls for using the broiler first , for 5 to 10 min until the chicken has a crispy finish. Roasting pan is on the center shelf and the broiler is at the top of the chamber. But then I have to switch to 375 oven.
And I wonder: normally it would take about 10 min for the oven to reach this temp. Shall I set the temp to 375, first, and then start with the broiling?
Thanks

(652 posts)It said turn on broiler first.
"Those 15 extra minutes of preheating time really do make a world of a difference, and we have a kitchen hack for heating your oven even faster the broiler.
If you put your ovens broiler on high for 3 to 5 minutes, youll find that your oven can reach higher temps almost immediately when you set the oven to the necessary temperature later.
I witnessed this magical, time-saving advice firsthand. Using my standard, two-rack oven for a test run, I found that I was able to get the interior heated to 350 degrees in just 2 minutes after using my broiler first."
