.... that when the left rose up in support of the group while they were talking about being ashamed that Bush was from Texas, and if memory serves, there was never a word spoken by that same left about the band's name. If there was, I never heard it.

I fully support the name change, but, as you mentioned, "we learn, we grow, we change". I grew up under the same circumstances as you, but I was a snot-nosed kid who didn't know any better, but I learned, I changed, and I grew, but, like a lot of people, not enough to recognize racism when it was staring me in the face. I still didn't actually fully recognize it until the frenzy of brand name racism got into full swing. Then it finally hit me how prevalent this crap was. It was then that I realized my learning, growing, and changing is an ongoing process that won't end until I'm put into the ground.
