Please help out an old lady.

I have a problem. I live in a senior citizens building. We all have our own apartments, but there are recreation rooms and a lounge. Last night, I went to an event and someone said "The governor was on TV and he said we don't have to wear masks anymore". Most people removed their masks. We were seated pretty close together in a closed room, so I left. I've been vaccinated and some of them have been vaccinated, too So my problem is; should I just keep wearing my mask when I go to the lounge or one of the rec rooms or should I stay inside my tiny apartment?

I had my second shot a month ago. I will continue to wear a mask unless I am in a small group of people who have also been fully vaccinated.

..Fauci says i dont have to. ( our state still mandates masks). Last week I went to my (fully vaxxed) uncles 90th bday party at the local lodge and i was assured that everyone there would be masked and vaxxed. The lodge had a sign that says masks dont need to be worn at the table..so NO one wore them except hubby and myself. I didnt eat any of the buffet altho i could smell that fried chicken thru my mask

They have mask mandate except at table eating. So yes every time you go up you slap on the mask. They also have disposable plastic glove you wear getting food and you get a new pair next time you go up. Seemed safer then before coronavirus. Masks are the main necessity. We’ve been going out since May 2020 to restaurants and wear masks which has been our saving grace to not get coronavirus. I’m half vaccinated. My second shot is April 23rd.

I love fried chicken and it would make me crazy if I couldn't have any. In my situation, I don't know if everyone in my building has been vaccinated. It bothers me that some people are so laissez faire about it. (Our Republican Trumper governor announced that we don't have to wear masks as of today}. That puts me in an awkward position. I believe in Dr. Fauci.

You're probably OK if everyone's been vaccinated. But for your own peace of mind, do what you're most comfortable doing. Don't be intimated by others. You are Woman,
