... a 10-month-old, 65 pound ball of hair that someone had just dropped off the day before, for some unknown reason. It wasn't his behavior, I don't think -- he's one of the sweetest dogs we've ever owned. It was love at first sight for my wife and daughter, and for me too. They're French sheepdogs from the Brie region -- if you remember the Dennis the Menace cartoons, his dog Ruff was based on a Briard. The puppies are usually $1000 to $5000 from a breeder, so I suppose his previous owner had some good reason they couldn't keep him. I'm so happy that he didn't have to spend much time in a shelter before finding a new home, but there's no way he was going to be there long, anyway. As my wife and daughter were leaving, a couple drove up and said they had driven down from Denver to adopt him as soon as they saw the listing. But most dogs just aren't that lucky.

He LOVES snow and doesn't want to come in when he's playing in it:

We will always get rescue animals! Dogs in particular are the most loving creatures on this planet, and everyone of them should be in a home that deserves to have them.

I've said this a million times, on DU and elsewhere: this world would be a FAR better place if it were run by dogs!

He has a lot to be happy about.

This is so cute. I'm saving it for a pick me up.
