PA was a magnate for them also. They fancied the steel mill scene.

4. West, Texas is where everyone stops for kolaches on the way to or from Austin.

When our Democratic groups take a bus down to Austin for a march, or lobby day or whatever, we always stop there.

6. My baba made stellar kolaches. Pot cheese/farmer's cheese,

prune and lekvar, apricot, nut. Hoo boy!

3. Fredericksburg, fantastic wine country, settled by Germans

good German food

If you like caves. Longhorn Caverns State Park is not far away*. Very nice to visit with good tours. Longhorn is a state park

If you go into the Austin area and the weather is hot, visit Hamilton Pool, and if you do go early. Visitors are limited.

The Lyndon B Johnson State Historic Site is in Johnson City and is not that big of a drive.

*Please be advised that "not far away" has a whole 'nuther meaning in Texas.

5. Fredericksburg, TX? I dint know. Slovak people somewhat share similar food tastes with Germans.

They love their sausages and pork, cabbage and, naturally, potatoes.

My plan B, an escape. Runnin' away from home, just for a spell.

An acquaintance has a Winnebago, but it needs towing. Which is too much involved. So a motorhome fits the bill.
