you can do but hope your parents will be ok. It's their decision to make.

I would avoid those realtives if they were mine, just because of their selfish indifference.

And if your relatives are willing to put children at risk, fuck them. You should end any relationship.

4. What do you parents think about your family members visiting ???

If they are okay with it there is nothing you can do.

If they don't want unvaccinated visitors they will have to speak up.

Unlike me, they are too nice to say anything, because they don't want to hurt any one's feelings..

5. Most everything we "know" about COVID is based on the old variants.

The new S. African, and other strains are more deadly, and able to infect even people who have been vaccinated.

Assuming you are not risking the health of a vaccinated person when you aren't is largely based on a viral strain that is already last year's news.

Same reason we keep getting a new flu shot every year. Boosters for the new strains are already in clinical trials for this very reason.

being vaccinated because they have a less robust immune system. And everyone who is vaccinated is at risk for a few of the variants that the current vaccines don't work as well on. Plus, no vaccine is 100% effective.

Pfizer says it is around 95% effective. Moderna is around 94%. Those are good odds, but there have been "breakthrough" infections of vaccinated people, usually seniors. That is why Fauci says to keep wearing masks and distancing, especially around more vulnerable people.

13. If your parents choose not to speak up there's nothing to be done.

My mom is 91 and she chose to tell my pendejo45 loving brother to wear a mask in her house. It was her house--her choice. I support her in it. While she worried he'd be upset, she also admits that in spite of her status of being fully vaccinated, she just doesn't want to take any chances.

Your parents are still living someplace other than a skilled nursing facility (I assume) so they get to make their own decisions. I'm sorry. It sucks, but you really don't have much say in it.
