I'm about five episodes into the HBO show Succession and all I can think about so far is...

...that at this point it's basically a darker and (somewhat) more serious version of Arrested Development.

The patriarch of a family business suffers a semi-debilitating personal setback, and so the focus shifts to his three sons, daughter and son-in-law to try and keep the business afloat.

Plus you have the family lawyer, an estranged brother, and an awkward and befuddled younger family member to round out the story.

Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it so far, but at this point I have to wonder if the parallels were intentional.

Never thought about that, I kind of binged it, I can't stand that weasel Kendall Roy, such an entitled snotwad, I am thinking Don Jr. with a more diverse drug portfolio.
