(5,602 posts)I'm going to train my cat to do that.
Ha ha, I just said train my cat.
Never mind.
it is the human who has been trained.
Training is underway now and you don't even know it.

(12,423 posts)And walked him across the living room so he was just using his hind legs. I didn't know how he would react. He immediately ran back to where we started and I realized he wanted to do it again. Then he wanted to do it again, and again, and again. Finally he would whine if we stopped and I had to keep doing it. Cats enjoy strange ways of moving their bodies through space.

(21,447 posts)If, OTOH, you had indicated with gestures that you wanted the cat to do it again, no deal.
My cat has 3 multi-tiered cat trees/gyms next to each other to form one grand one. She has set rules for which tier is totally private and not approachable without risk of retaliation, and which ones she will allow humans to approach to scratch her head or ears. I put up a plaque beside them that reads: The cat is in charge. We only live here.
