(38,410 posts)Just so you know....The miniaturization of important items started with the space program...Much of those ideas
about ...miniaturization... have been transported into hospitals, computers, cars, etc ....Well, if you
don't think that our space programs has helped millions of people in many different ways..well you don't get it...
Miniaturization of computers is a result of this program...Now, it took dozens of years for it all to take place,
but at this moment you and I are using a..... "direct result of the space program."...
........HARD TO BELIEVE....BUT TRUE!!!!!....don't believe it....well...look it up..
.......first they miniaturized the stuff, and then they had to make a lot of the stuff, and then they made
.......it cheaper and cheaper...and still cheaper and still cheaper.....Now...you get a computer that you
.......can hold in your hands..for ??? ...$$???....just like in.... Star Trek...and once that was
...........................................science fiction.................... IS THAT CORRECT???.....................

(16,269 posts)That's right, computers have been miniaturized to the point where one can fit in your ear! 😁
Instead of just making everything louder, my hearing aids have tiny computers that are programmed with information about my specific hearing deficits, and they are able to analyze incoming sounds and enhance (turn up the volume) on the specific frequencies where I need help. They can also filter out some of the background noise when I'm in a noisy environment that's making it hard to hear. They can even talk to each other and... well, I don't really understand that part very well myself. But take it from me, this is some amazing technology! Science fiction indeed.
