A new channel popped up on my TV today. It's channel 9.4, on DC's WUSA, which carries the Twist network.
Remember JonBenét Ramsey? Imagine a TV about dozens of girls like JonBenét Ramsey and their moms. That's what this is.

(57,704 posts)You must not watch TV over the air. I suppose you're one of those "cable people."
I watch TV the way gawd intended -- over the air. I've never seen 9.4 until this afternoon. I had to rescan a set top converter to bring it in.

(38,601 posts)Dance Moms has everything you need (if vicious stage moms are what you need). Plus Maddie and McKenzie. Plus some pretty fun choreography.

(5,420 posts)reminds me of all the bad TV I've seen growing up in the fifties and sixties. And of all the commercials, too many to count, to which I've been subjected. I cannot speak to "Dance Moms;" but there has certainly been a lot of terrible TV after its invention.
My best friend across the street when we were kids was raised in a house without TV. He had three older brothers and a younger sister and I have sometimes wondered how the development of his mind differed from mine. All other input, environmental stimuli aside in comparison with my upbringing, for him to have grown to young manhood minus any influence from television I believe helped produce a highly creative, intelligent, honest, down to earth young man. His brothers and sister all went on to professional careers and he has been successful as well.
And I wonder to what degree TV has affected my own development through the years, as reruns of "F Troop" slide through my mind . . .
