I was on my way home from the UPS store, and this idiot went through a stoplight, and nearly hit me.

I fell over on my bicycle, on to the pavement.

My bicycle isn't damaged, but I am. 3 cracked ribs, that hurt like all get out.

Cops got the driver's license plate number from one of the witnesses, who also helped me.

Damaged ribs are very painful and sometimes serious. Idiot drivers need to be taken off the road.

If u were in NM I would have a referral for you, but ask around and research for a good attorney.

I was run down on my bike by a driver who ran a stop sign. Took a picture of her license, a picture of the license of a witness. It involved my insurance company as well as hers. I wasn’t hurt, only bruised, but my bike fork and front wheel were taco-ed. I did go to the doctor for x-rays. Took months before everything was sorted out. I had to respond to requests for information from both insurance companies.

12. GODDAMMIT. Too many motorists out there that don't give a shit about cyclists! Way

too much distracted driving that I observe, and that plays a huge role, I'm sure.

There are some motorists who like to see how close they can come to bikes, blow horns right next to you, throw things, are drunk, etc. I was fortunate enough to catch a few of them.

It hurts, so better than broken clavicle or wrist, or leg. I hope you are feeling better quickly.

My observation is that most motorists are actually pretty good around cyclists, but the bad ones are getting worse. Sadly, everyone including other motorists are hostage to the worst 5%. I don’t think the police are worried about this.

20. OH, man do you have my sympathy. I just healed up from breaking one, and that was plenty bad enough

One morning, I coughed (do your VERY best to not cough or sneeze) and the pain almost made me pass out. It was also a weird pain - instead of being sharp and instant, it felt like tearing cloth, or something. Doctor told me it was probably the broken parts of the rib rubbing together.
