I had lunch at a restaurant for the first time in forever

God it was a nice experience to be out there just for a little while. I'm still not fully vaccinated yet, but just to get out of the house outside of work and have lunch with a friend really brought me some happy spirits.

It was with fully vaccinated family and on an outside patio.

Nice change, but it felt strange.

3. We only wore masks when the server was present.

We decided that wearing masks was the polite and caring thing to do for the server. No other patrons were within ten feet and we were upwind.

5. Yeah we wore them until we got a table

The waitress wasn't really wearing hers that much sadly. That made me a little uneasy. But the place wasn't crowded thankfully. We went a little after lunch time until it was less busy

4. Glad you got to go out

I went out to eat only once a few months ago, outside on a patio. I wasn't immunized yet, but there was no one else there but me and a friend. She had Covid several months before and had an antibody test and was immune at the time, so i felt safe. Only removed masks when eating.

But it wasn't busy. We waited until after the rush before going.

7. Today

was my first day out, in over a year, eating in a restaurant too! My son took me out for a birthday lunch, it was wonderful I'm 4 weeks post second vax dose. Life is feeling better now.

I think I'm having anxiety just from being out in public for the first time. Like once I got home, I started to feel panicky. I guess it was overwhelming for me

I can understand that. I've been out throughout the pandemic but just to go grocery shopping and run like hell through the store. I live in Washington state where mask wearing is not a suggestion, makes going out a little easier.

9. Yesterday, first lunch out with a friend in over a year. Tomorrow the gov is closing us down again.

My friend and I are each more than two weeks after our second shots, and wore masks (as did the server) We really enjoyed getting out but our county, as a whole, has moved back in to the ‘extreme risk’ category as of tomorrow and everything will be zipped up again.

We tipped BIG.
