Oh my gawd, if I didnt know these were just side effects...lol.
Woke up about 8:30am. Head, neck, and back all sore. No fever. But Im 59 years old and I know that most of the aches and pains I wake up with can be cured by getting out of bed, up and around, and on my feet. Same this morning. For a bit.
Every now and then Im the only one home, and today was one of those days. So Im staring at my guitars and thinking one thing: What a great time to do some laundry and vacuum the house! So I did. But when I was done with that, the fever aches hit me. Still no fever, but every joint in my body was on fire, and still is.
And now that the dryer is done (I wont run the dryer when Im asleep and/or nobodys home) but now that its done, so am I.
Nighty-night, kids!

(7,715 posts)I was knocked out after my one-and-done J&J...no real side effects except that I was EXTREMELY tired for several days, and I was a bit on the chilly side.
But TOTALLY unlike you, I simply crashed into bed and slept it off!
Take it easy, for so many reasons. Most of the stuff (except kids and pets) can wait a few days....

(3,349 posts)I couldn't get warm. I flopped on the sofa, covered in a thick throw and several dogs, and I was still freezing. Then a headache. Then a slight fever. The next day I was fine except for a sore arm.
But very happy it's over and I'm "safe".

(360 posts)When we left the store I told my partner that I didn't even feel the needle go in. As the day progressed I still had no side effects and I said, "I don't think there were any drugs in that syringe because I don't feel any side effects and I didn't even feel the needle go in." The next morning I was eating my words because I felt horrible all day.

(7,952 posts)Nothing awful, sore arm as typical, but even though I slept it felt like I hadn't.
The second day might have been just contrast or my imagination but I felt *awesome* for some reason.
Scheduled for shot #2 in a few weeks, hopefully I won't have the dreaded second dose effects. Luckily it's on a Friday so I'll have the weekend to recover if necessary.

(846 posts)Woke up this morning with a splitting headache that has been with me all day.
Took the dog to the vet, came home, and spent the entire day asleep in bed.
Just got up after six hours, headache is still there but not as bad.
Yeah, joints are a little stiff.

(114,615 posts)when you feel like you've been trampled by a herd of something very large and determined. You don't really want to take NSAIDs because the inflammation is part of the process of developing a long term immunity Tylenol kills the pain without interfering with the immune response, which is what is making you feel like shit.

(13,003 posts)we still know precious little about this virus................
There were a ton of people in the 1918 pandemic who didn't catch the virus that were exposed.
It was suggested that those particular people had some how been exposed to a flu virus in their lives that had prepared their bodies to be resistant to the pandemic virus.......
They may find that that is the case with this Covid Virus..........
It would make sense, given that many people have become really sick or died from their exposure to this virus and a majority had few or no effects..............

These anecdotes are not making me eager for my second, though.

(53,410 posts)I have painful tendonitis which Ive learned to deal with so I can usually move around and do some things, but after the vaccine I was in way too much pain, and all I could do was take naps.
Im not taking naps every day anymore but I still cant deal with moving around or doing things. I feel too tired, and my tendonitis flares up when I move. Just walking to get my Mail is too painful. Forget about dragging the vacuum cleaner around or cleaning anything up. The kitchen awaits.

(51,268 posts)fighting off what it thinks is a viral infection. Tylenol pm and a good night's sleep are great, or whatever you like for pain/fever and sleep. I felt fantastic the next day.
Good luck

(6,356 posts)Got my first Pfizer jab on Tuesday; so utterly sensation-free that I became paranoid that the nurse administering the shot might be up to no good. But Wednesday morning I woke up knowing better, with the injection site absolutely screaming NO TOUCHY! at me every time I moved. So I took a day off to wear an ice pack and sit around going, "urrrrrrrrr."
Now I'm really looking forward to my second shot! Ha! Still better than COVID itself, of course.

(55,137 posts)what to expect when I get my second shot at the end of May. He said the second one is the one that nails you. He explained that the first shot gets your body ready and the second is the virus. He said he felt like you for a day or so.

(5,006 posts)Seriously bad headache, mild fever, body aches, a little nausea, massive fatigue, unable to sleep, didn't want to eat, or even drink much because of the nausea.
I was all about letting my immune system have at it. At 36 hours I really felt like it was over, and was just tired with a headache. Ate a bunch of food. Anti-inflammitories are apparently a no-no for immune response so I took a single tylenol, and slept really solid the second night.
Nothing left but a wee bit of dizziness.
I cannot help but imagine what a real COVID19 infection would do compared to this. A real infection would be a virus replicating at exponential rates. This mRNA shot was just a fixed amount of protein spikes...

(37,182 posts)After I went for a walk, I passed out when I got back home. Had me one of those deep sleeps for 6 hours in the middle of the day. Woke up felt like crap. Got something to eat and started feeling better.
Next day, I was back to normal.
