The tattoo artist's girlfriend suggested a teddy bear, which would have gone on my upper left arm/shoulder.

OK, I was about 29. But I gave it some thought and decided I didn't want to be sporting a teddy bear on my arm when I was 40+.

So I got a rosebud instead.
