We got him from a family living at the Germany - Czech Republic border and he answered to commands in German. Simple ones like Come here, sit, stay. He was 10 weeks old at the time of adoption.

We transitioned him by using the command in German first and then praising him for doing it in English by repeating the act in English and saying "Good boy" (for coming, staying, sitting, etc.) Then we would use English more and more until finally that's all we used.

But - he will still perform the task if we say it to him in German. I swear he wags his tail more when we do.

Animals are awesome.
