Then I heard this podcast about John DeLorean (The DeLorean was the car used for the time machine in Back to the Future).

That didn't end well, and I doubt Musk's story is going to be much better.

(The DeLorean sure was a pretty car though.)

This was before Back to the Future, so the cars were mostly considered duds. For some reason Mom had the chance to buy one - Mom, who not the adventurous, sports car type - and seriously considered buying it. She decided against it, mostly because she and Dad only had a two car garage and they already had two cars.

It would have been so cool if she had gotten it and kept it for the rest of her life. Owning a DeLorean at 90+ would have the epitome of fun.
