Here we are in February of 2020, her last birthday before she passed away. She was in the nursing home, and I brought her a big plate of turkey dinner and a slice of cake.
I miss you mom.

Memory like a steel trap. Never got much past her.

Me half-mum (one better than step mom). Mother of my paternal half brothers and sister. Last mom standing.

Me, my birth mother, me half mum. Those two were sorority sisters. My half mum marred my birth father after I vanished into the ether as an infant. We had 8 years together, before the the Big C took her.

My mom.
My gift for 44 years, to the day from the time she brought me home until she passed into stardust ten years ago.
Mother's Day is a symphony for me.

(759 posts)Per request, a relatively recent photo of my mother and me
Close enough, her is a photo of grandma and me. We were celebrating her 104th birthday.
Here is a photo of my hubby and his parents. I met her when she came to the US, she went out for pizza with my mom and pop. Jose told his dad to leave the banana on the table for the photo, he insisted on hanging on to it.
This is a photo of the family at my nephews graduation, he is now a practicing physicians assistant. Sadly, my father and grandmother both passed, he on 12/23/20, she on 1/16/21.
On a happier note, a photo from my parents wedding night

(17,368 posts)In the wedding photo I see so much joy in both your parents eyes! Beautiful, just beautiful. You were able to enjoy your grandmother for a long, long time. It doesnt ease the loss, but how remarkable. Love that hour hubbys dad hung onto his banana!
