But he's proud of his service - as he should be.

(27,488 posts)She was my first supervisor when I got an office job right out of high school. Wonderful person, hilarious sense of humor, good friend.
Then another friend from my working days, 53 years. Played together on our office girls softball team in Boston. Just visited with her last week. Was wonderful seeing her in person after a year cooped up.
Amazing when you think of all the years that have gone by.

I had a friendship with a guy dating back about twenty-eight years or so, but last year, we found out he's been harassing women online. So no more friendship with him...

I'll have to call her. (I talked to her a few weeks ago)

(49,753 posts)Twenty-four years ago, I cut every non-family person out of my life. Had to do it to save my own life. And it worked. But as a result, I have no friends. Only family. It was weird at first. But now I love it!

(252,158 posts)We went through a lot over the years growing up and the friend whose parents owned and ran the camp we went to usually organizes a summer meetup back in Vermont - even though we're all in different states now. Last summer was the exception, though.
