(15,539 posts)I'd usually read reviews before spending money on a movie.
An exception was about a year earlier when Aliens was released and I took a date to see it. Yet it was sold out, and the theater-guy recommended some movie called April Fool's Day instead.
So I reluctantly agreed to pay for those tickets, but the film was so idiotic to me that I told my girlfriend that I was leaving if the cigar that was lit by one of the characters exploded. It did, and I declared, "That's it! I'm leaving! I'll wait in the car if you want to finish watching it."
She left the theater with me, and we went to a bowling alley and a restaurant instead. Yet she never stopped complaining about the theater incident the rest of the night, later telling me that she didn't want to date me anymore because she was enjoying that film. Oh, well!

(9,173 posts)I was seventeen that year. Didn't see it in the theater though--rented it at Blockbuster.

(6,632 posts)So I guess the franchises are still available. This one also is a ham radio vendor (new and used) and still carries some variety of electronics....Cool place but I don't get over there often...I do have a low level Ham license and should update and upgrade(for techy and nerd fun reasons)...couple of links below....
